A rare collector’s item, slow and difficult to grow well. This compact species produces huge single pink flowers up to 50mm across throughout the growing season. Leaves are small and compact and flowers appears along all stems, older buds will re-flower many times.
Flowers: 1 to 2 large 50 mm on short spikes from September to May.
Position:Partial shade, under cover in colder climates to protect from winter rains and frosts.
Temperature: Intermediate to tropical, will need to be wintered indoors in cold damp climates.
Water: Keep dryer in winter in colder climates and moist in warmer momths. In tropical climates watering in summer to promote more flowers.
Fertiliser: Weak dose regularly in warmer months
Repotting: not required so long as food and water can be kept up.
